I’m publishing a link to this rather than the image itself. Urban Outfitters UK is selling a card (buyers are told “Send your greetings in style with this charming card.”) that features that t-word slur, in the context of yet another story of a trans person hiding their status and “shocking” a date with their genitals. Transphobic, stigmatizing, stereotyping, crass, ugly, demeaning, disgusting.
Urban Outfitters sucks in so many ways, but this is new and unbelievable. This requires more than just my usual signoff. Let them know how you feel, on Twitter @uoeurope and Facebook. Let them know how entirely unacceptable this is.
And tell them, hey, Urban Outfitters (Europe): STFU!
Censored version of a headline running today at Queerty [Trigger Warning for Transphobia on that link], where apparently using transphobic slurs, sex worker shaming and being generally misgendering and horribly disrespectful is the way to write about the trans woman who is now living in fear, but in her younger years helped to raise the child who would grow up to be President of the United States.
Hey, Queerty, you transphobic jackals? STFU!
